In Elden Ring, there is a spot where you can collect 1 million runes in 10 minutes.
Elden Ring has been available for a little over a month now, and if you’ve been playing it, you’ve certainly noticed that advancement is dependent on three factors: luck, skill, and runes. There are many beautiful runes. In Elden Ring, runes serve as both currency and experience points, as they are used to purchase stuff and level up your character. This applies to both weapon leveling, which also necessitates the use of Smithing Stones, and standard character leveling, which necessitates the use of a large number of runes.
You can obtain these runes by killing enemies, defeating bosses, and selling stuff. However, if you want to get them quickly, there are simple ways to farm them. Two rune farming methods are described in this article. The first is available early on, and the second appears considerably later in the game.
The first approach I’ll share will provide you with approximately 50,000 runes in 15 minutes. The second method, which is ideally suited for post-game rune farming, is far faster; it can easily get you a million runes in 10 minutes.
The traditional method: 50,000 runes in 15 minutes
To begin, proceed to the Third Church of Marika, which is circled on the map above. If you haven’t previously found the Site of Grace, go to Agheel Lake North, where Melina gifted you Torrent. Continue on the path, ignoring everything, even a monster who will be waiting at the Church. After you’ve triggered the Site of Grace inside, proceed around the back to find a transporter beside a little cove.
After passing through the transportation portal, you’ll be transported to the Bestial Sanctum in the Dragonbarrow region. Gurranq, a beast inside the Sanctum, rewards you for delivering it Deathroots. But that’s a different guide: what we’re interested in here is outside.
Looking out into the fields, you’ll notice a massive dragon knight guarding the Sanctum. The Black Blade Kindred is a boss. Do not oppose it. It will kill you instantly.
Instead, walk to the left of the steps you’re on and jump onto the field. You won’t be noticed unless you’re directly in front of the boss, so avoid that. However, if you go into the fields, you’ll see a swarm of miniature, statue-like fighters roaming around. These are the reasons you’ve come.
They’re easy to kill (by Elden Ring standards) at practically any level because they stumble when hit. And you can sneak up behind them and conduct a critical strike from behind, which will either defeat them or take a chunk out of their health. Best of all, killing them earns you slightly more than 1,000 runes each.
All these monsters are roaming around alone on the left side of the balcony, where you jump off. The right side is more difficult because they go in groups of two or three. If you’re a beginner, I recommend hanging to the left and killing them one by one. In either case, you can quickly amass a large number of runes by killing a group, resurrecting them at the Site of Grace within the Bestium Sanctum, and repeating the process.
End Game rune farming: 1 million in 10 minutes
50,000 runes in 15 minutes may no longer suffice as you travel through Elden Ring. The best way I’ve found will bring you that much in less than a minute, but there are a few requirements.
To obtain the best results, you’ll need the Sacred Relic Sword, which you can only get by defeating the final monster. This strategy may be used with any weapon; it’s only that the Sacred Relic Sword’s special move has a large area of influence that speeds up the procedure. You’ll also need a Golden Scarab talisman, which increases rune acquisition by 20%.
The area in question is Mohgwyn Palace, an optional area. There are two methods to go to this area: Go through White-Faced Varre’s questline, which you can locate at the Rose Church after defeating Godrick The Grafted, or by finding a gateway on the Mountaintops of the Giants’ west side. If you’re wondering how to go to the western side of the Mountaintops, it involves collecting two parts of the Haligtree Secret Medallion and presenting it to Rold’s Grand Lift.
Because I had already unlocked the western side of the Mountaintops, I picked the later method. The portal and its position can be found on the map below.
You’ll find yourself in a little cave if you come by the transporter. When you exit, you’ll be welcomed with a panoramic vista of Mohgwyn Palace and a Site of Grace. You’ll be cultivating your runes at the Site of Grace.
Looking forward from the Site of Grace, you’ll notice a swarm of sleeping ogre beasts. There are approximately a dozen of them loitering. Looking to the left, you’ll notice another place separated from you by a large canyon. A really ugly bird is flitting back and forth on the other side of the canyon.
Fortunately for us, the bird is a moron. It will become enraged and charge at you if you shoot it with an arrow. As previously said, there is a massive canyon between you and the bird. The bird falls to the ground and dies, providing you with approximately 11,000 runes with minimal effort. Then it’s time to annihilate the ogre dudes. This is where the Sacred Relic Sword enters the picture. It has a unique move called Wave of Gold that will hit nearly every enemy in the area. Just by targeting one ogre and hitting L2, I was able to kill a slew of them and get almost 40,000 runes.
That’s it! When everyone is dead and you’ve collected all of the runes, travel to the Site of Grace for a little respite before the enemies repopulate the region. Then repeat the process.
You don’t have to use the final boss weapon again. It won’t take you long to eliminate all of the adversaries here, especially if you have another weapon with a large area of effect attack. Remember to equip your Golden Scarab talisman to increase your ruin acquisition by 20%. In total, you’ll receive approximately 60,000 runes per run. It’s simple to harvest a million runes in 10 minutes here once you get into a decent rhythm.
Spend an hour on this, and you’ll be the wealthiest Tarnished the Lands Between ever saw.
